Heidi Klum was born in Bergisch Gladbach Germany on June 1st 1973. Erna Klum was her hairdresser's mother. Gunther Kum was a manager for an organization that dealt in cosmetics. Heidi's father was formerly Director of Production for the 4711 fragrance company. Heidi grew in Bergisch Gladbach which is a town of 100,000 just six miles to the east of Cologne. The German-American former fashion model is now a television host and producer fashion designer businesswoman as well as an actress. She lives and works in both the southern part of California and Germany. Klum had to compete against 25,000 contestants across Germany as well as Europe prior to being one of the three semifinalists. She was the winner in April 1992 of the highest prize of $300,000.
